A true meeting of the Spirits, Ultra Minor is a collaboration between microtonal guitarist/composer Jon Catler and master percussionist Ra Kalam Bob Moses.
Playing in a Harmonic tuning based on 528 hertz, the drums are also tuned to pitch and play in key with the guitar.
Mostly performed on the 12-Tone Ultra Plus fretted guitar, there are also some breathtaking forays with Fretless guitar. In this duo setting, the intricacies of the guitar intonation can be heard, along with the incredible drum and cymbal work of Ra Kalam. A unique recording that leads to a deep listening experience.

about

from FreeNote CD Track Talk for Jon Catler and Ra Kalam Bob Moses 'Ultra Minor’ -
‘The Matrix’ melody is a musical translation of Marko Rodin’s doubling sequence. Doubling is one of Nature’s main ways of propagating energy, as can be seen in the Harmonic Series where successive octaves are found by doubling the frequency. The basic doubling sequence of 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 is reduced to it’s essence by adding the double digit numbers to produce a single digit, (Pythagorean style). So 16 is reduced to 1 + 6 = 7, and 32 is reduced to 3 + 2 = 5. This results in a doubling sequence of
1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5
(By spacing numbers 1 - 9 equidistant on a circle, and then connecting these doubling sequence numbers, the lines form a figure 8, which is the symbol for Infinity. It also looks very much like a DNA strand).
Rodin has found that the doubling sequence then reverses to 1, 5, 7, 8, 4, 2, followed by the missing numbers (spirit) of 396, which are also then reversed to get 396693.
So the whole Matrix melody in Harmonics is:
1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5, 1, 5, 7, 8, 4, 2, (repeat), 3, 9, 6, 6, 9, 3 (played three times), 1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5, 1, 5, 7, 8, 4, 2
